CA Desktop DNA?Migrator quickly and easily backs up and transfers your unique PC DNA – system settings and application settings, network and printer settings, data files and folders, email address books, photos, music and more – to your new PC. By transferring your “DNA?from your old PC to your new PC you will be up and running quickly, taking advantage of your new PC’s features and functions while still enjoying the familiar desktop environment settings, data and connections of your old PC. With CA Desktop DNA Migrator you may also schedule backups of your PC DNA on a recurring basis and easily restore your DNA after a disaster event, such as a virus or system crash.

Easy-to-Use Wizard Interface – User-friendly Wizard interface quickly guides you through the steps to perform the migration that is right for you. Users can easily begin the migration at any point in the Wizard Interface.

Flexible Migration Methods – Choose between a real-time or a deferred migration option: quickly stream your PC’s DNA directly from your old PC to your new PC using an Ethernet crossover cable (included in the package version only) or create a DNA file to transfer to your new PC or use for backup.

Easy-to-Use Migration Types – Perform a typical migration of your most popular settings and data in just a few easy steps or you may customize exactly what you want transferred to your new PC.

Cross-Operating System and Application Migration – The settings you have customized on your old PC and in the older versions of your applications will seamlessly migrate to the new version of the operating system and application.

Easy Backup – Schedule backups of your DNA file to run on a recurring basis and save it to a CD or DVD to protect your settings and data from an unforeseen incident. The recurring capture will only collect the changes since the last time your DNA was stored.

Undo File – An undo file is automatically created and placed on your desktop, allowing you to return your PC to its pre-migration state with a simple double-click.

Automated Disk-Spanning – Automatically spans DNA files to the size of a CD-ROM and places the files in a folder on the desktop for easy movement to a CD-ROM, DVD, or other removable media.

Self-Extracting Files – A Deferred Migration creates a self-extracting DNA file, allowing you to transfer the DNA file to your new PC over a network or burned to CD-ROM or DVD. Once the DNA file is on your new PC, simply double-click on the file and the migration will take place automatically transferring your DNA to your new PC.

Migration Progress – The Migration Status on the left side of the screen always lets you know where you are in your migration process.

Summary Screens – A comprehensive logging feature tracks the success of the migration and monitors the overall progress of the migration process.
